Last week in August a local wine celebration. With a huge 50 seat table lay out along the main street.
Each year nearby towns celebrate the first tasting of the year’s new wines.
Nemi ”Strawberry festival”
Duration: Full Day
The town of Nemi is famed for its small (like berries) strawberries that grow wild in the woods.
May is the month for the strawberry harvest and related celebrations last until the end of June.
Artena, Palazzo Borghese
Duration: 2 Hours
Artena, situated in the northwest of the Monti Lepini Mountains 45 minus from Rome is home to Palazzo Borghese (17th Century).
Apart from its wonderful history the Palazzo’s front garden /balcony was used in the scene for Franco Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet (1968)
